Our Work

Get a glimpse into what we do.

We’ve worked with hundreds of organizations at various stages of their equity journeys—here are a few of our select clients.

Denver Zoo

How The Equity Project (TEP) helped Denver Zoo establish equity, inclusion, and diversity as part of their strategic framework and day-to-day operations.

Denver Zoo partnered with TEP to help define equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at the zoo and build an EDI strategy. We worked with the zoo’s leadership team, facilitating several workshops to explore their current systems, and identify areas for improvement. We also conducted internal focus group discussions on inclusion at the Denver Zoo. These conversations allowed us to build an EDI framework, with priorities and action items tailored specifically to the zoo’s strengths, growth opportunities, and culture.

In addition, we presented a Kickoff EDI workshop for all Denver Zoo staff, and held implicit bias training sessions for their leadership team. TEP served as a mentor for LIFT, the zoo’s leadership program, and helped the group create an EDI Steering Committee, alongside the development of the Denver Zoo diversity statement.

“Dr. Dwinita is a mentor and thought partner in the work of EDI and has helped the zoo move forward from talking about the work needing to be done, to starting the work with clear actions. The Equity Project has successfully reviewed our recruitment and hiring practices, created an internal diversity steering committee, and began the important assessment of our internal systems of equity”

MCA Denver

Here’s another wonderful client we’ve worked with, the Museum of Contemporary Art (@mca_denver) here in Denver! They approached us as they were looking for guidance on how best to reorient their organization through the lens of equity and inclusion. They specifically sought the help of experts to identify where they were falling short in these areas and provide in-depth support as they determined how best to move forward.

“We are still very much in the middle of the process, but the work with TEP has been revelatory and rewarding—it has allowed us to make immediate and impactful changes to how we operate, while also preparing us for longer-term change and growth-focused squarely on our becoming a more equitable organization. TEP thoughtfully and intentionally led us through a process to help us determine what the path toward this goal would be. I can’t recommend TEP highly enough.”
